Yoga at The Oaks is a serene yoga studio located in the countryside of Normandy, Guildford. In addition to Yoga classes, Sarah offers Relaxation and Meditation classes, workshops, and Qi Gong (Chi Kung). The classes are small and friendly, ensuring that each participant receives personalized attention and support from Sarah, benefiting from her sensitive approach and many years of experience.

 

Yoga Classes 

My style is thoughtful and reflective, yet friendly and interactive. I teach Hatha yoga and my approach is chiefly Scaravelli-inspired which focuses on breath, gravity and the spine. 

This way of practicing yoga takes a clear focus and develops a patient and compassionate understanding of yourself and your body - working with yourself rather than against yourself. 

It's a slow and thoughtful form of yoga which develops concentration and focus and deepens your awareness - a bit like "meditation in movement" or "mindfulness" yoga. Tension is released, aches and pains are eased and there is an opportunity to drop into that deep quiet place inside you, where you can rest. 

I teach how to work closely and respectfully with your body to bring health, balance, peace and awareness. 
 

Online Yoga Classes 

I give friendly and inclusive online classes from my bright and spacious studio where there is a clear view of me teaching in front of a bank wall. 

 

Relaxation & Meditation Classes 

Take time to relax, de-stress and unwind with my classes for Relaxation & Meditation in Guildford. Experience simple and effective meditation & relaxation exercises to:

- Release tension

- Calm the mind

- Centre your energy

- Refresh your spirit. 

We use breathing exercises, mindfulness meditation and guided meditation, visualisations using colour and nature and music - to experience different ways of relaxing and letting go of tension. We use simple meditation and concentration exercises to focus and quieten the mind and to connect with your own "inner knowing". We experience stillness, space and the peace of silence in meditation and deep relaxation. 

 

The Oaks is a peaceful and nurturing environment where you can enjoy the small friendly groups and feel safe and supported. The Relaxation and Meditation classes offer a gentle and enjoyable experience - time out for you to relax, reflect and renew your energy - leading to a clear mind, tranquil heart and overall sense of balance and well-being. 

 

Qi Gong Classes 

Qi Gong (Chi Kung) is a gentle practice of simple flowing movements with attention to posture, energy flow and the breath. It directs and cultivates Qi (life force/energy) in and around the body. It is similar to Tai Chi but the movements are very much simpler and easier to follow. No previous experience is necessary. I hold small Qi Gong classes in my calming studio in Normandy, Guildford and we sometimes use the peaceful garden to help connect with nature.
